NANOG THE DIGITAL GUARDIAN

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Nanog assists independent living. Supporting people to live in their homes for longer. Enabling people to return to their homes from hospital sooner. Helping social carers do their jobs more efficiently.

The Device

Nanog is a smart speaker with a screen which acts as a digital guardian and companion.

Digital Guardian

The Nanog device is connected to a range of sensors located discreetly around the home. The data collected from the sensors create a picture of activity in the home. If activity in the home deviates from the norm, it will alert the relevant individuals using a RAG-rated system. A green status denotes all is well; amber suggests the activity has deviated from the norm. Red denotes urgent attention is required; a bathroom door has been closed with the occupier inside for an extended period, a bed sensor has or hasn’t been activated at an expected time, an oven has been on for an extended period.

Nanog is a voice-based device that listens for and responds to calls for help. It can be used in tandem with wearable devices and triggers an alarm if the user forgets their wearable device, delivering an extra layer of peace of mind to loved ones.

Digital Companion

Isolation and loneliness are known contributing factors to general health and well-being. Nanog offers companionship by answering questions, providing reminders for appointments and medications, offering weather updates and news, and playing music and audio content.

Supporting Social Care

Nanog logs each visit from care providers and informs users of scheduled visits. By populating a calendar, Nanog’s intelligent interface creates a picture of care provision. It can help inform care providers of the care being provided, improve care schedules, and deliver time and cost efficiencies.
